My husband and I, along with our pet boxer, spent a heavenly week at Chalet Magnifique. The accommodation is absolutely stunning: brilliantly designed in a Japanese style and constructed from local materials, but with many French-Canadian touches. The river-side setting (with screened gazebo and screened porch) is absolutely therapeutic, and the large, idyllic pond allows for invigorating swims. The accommodation is fully appointed with every convenience. If you like to cook, then you'll love the gas stove and all of the best pots and gadgets. The owners/hosts are impeccable and did everything to ensure that our stay was exceptional, and that we had everything we needed. Chalet Magnifique is also close to everything we wanted: the pretty town of Sutton; canoe and kayak rental; mountain hikes (for all levels of ability); skiing and snowshoeing; wineries; orchards; historic towns; and more. We really cannot recommend this facility enough, but (paradoxically) don't want too many people to know about it so that we don't have trouble booking in future!

So relaxing with the sound of the river nearby. This place dissolved all my stress. I agree with so much of what the other reviewers have said about it. The kitchen is well stocked, the bedroom downstairs is comfortable, the bathtub is generous and the fireplaces are cozy. I enjoyed the personal touches throughout the cabin, like the fascinating items brought back from Elisa's years living in Japan. The energy here is quiet, but creatively stimulating. Great space for writing or taking photos or doing some kind of craft. Thanks again Elisa, Guy and Pom-Pom for this treasure. I will dream of visiting again.

I've stayed at the chalet twice now. Once in July and the second in late September and I have to say that both visits were some of the most peaceful and inspiring days of any vacation I've ever experienced. The home is warm and lovely and appointed with anything you could ever need to cook whatever you wish. There's plenty of blankets - some of the nicest and coziest I've seen. The screened porch by the brook is a quiet retreat and at night there is amazing stargazing. I just love it there. We stayed six nights and wanted six more, and we didn't travel from nearby either. The first time I came to the chalet I lived in Florida. Now I reside in Denver. There are plenty of amazing places to visit and stay in both locations, but I say this more a testament to how different and apart this place is to any other. What Elisa and Guy have created is truly a unique sanctuary away from the hectic demands of our everyday world.

Also, I'd like to mention as I'm sure others have in previous reviews, that the town of Sutton is a gem of amazing food, galleries and shops, as well as all having a big grocery and liquor store. It's only a ten-minute or so drive through beautiful rolling hills.

I have been a guest at Chalet Magnifique numerous times, each experience being nothing short of wonderful! Top marks for location, design and functionality, cleanliness, hospitality and the concept itself.
Here, you have autonomy and privacy which most guests seemed to treasure. You can cook in the gourmet kitchen, equipped with beautiful dishes and high end gadgets or you can rely on great local stores and restaurants a short drive away.
My friends and I always choose the first option. The place is simply too beautiful to leave!
You will be seduced by the tranquility of it - the soothing sounds of the brook, the serene pond, the beautiful and very private sun deck . The screened gazebo is a perfect place to relax with a book, the hammock is hard to resist when you're in the mood for a nap.
Feeders scattered throughout the property attract large numbers of birds : chickadees, bluejays, hummingbirds to name a few.
Bad weather should not deter you from booking a stay at Chalet Magnifique.
When you're surrounded by beautiful objects, a vast collection of interesting books, a cozy fire place and comfortable furniture to stretch out on, a little rain seems like a minor inconvenience.
Last but not least : the owners - Elisa and Guy - are amazing! Their vision for this place ( and the other two cottages), their hands-on involvement and continuous upgrades never seizes to amaze me.
Be prepared to want to befriend them!

Stayed here 2 nights at the end of April. Absolutely amazing place. Amazing decor and very functional. So many areas in and around the house to relax. The master bedroom with fireplace and connecting bathroom is better than any hotel room I've ever been in. Elisa was very nice and accommodating. We were a couple with a dog but this place sleeps at least 4 very comfortably. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway
