| Whether or not this is the chalet for you depends very much on what you are looking for. We were hoping for a private getaway, secluded with a view of the water. While listed as waterfront, there is no view of the water. At the back of the yard, there is a dock on a small inlet, which leads out into the larger lake. There is almost no visibility of this from the house, and it certainly did not provide the lakefront views that we were hoping for or that the pictures suggest. As for privacy, there were neighboring houses very close with no fence or tree cover in between, and the road is essentially in the backyard.
We paid for a Monday through Friday stay, but the check-in and check-out times made this feel far shorter than it should have. We were not permitted to check in on Monday until after 4:00 PM, and we were told we had to leave on Friday morning by 9:00 AM (plus we had to wash all of the bedding before we left, meaning a very early wake-up time). It makes a 5-day stay feel like a 3-day stay.
If these are not important issues for you, however, the house itself is wonderful. It was very clean and exactly as the pictures show it to be. We enjoyed using the kayaks, rowboat, hot tub (spa), and large soaker bathtub, and valued being able to get out of the city to get a little peace and quiet. We were extremely pleased with the interior and the owners were very pleasant to deal with. It really just depends what you're looking for.

Owner response: Hello mr Hatrick, First, thank you for the nice words about the cottage. You are right, the cottage is really waterfront but we cannot see the water from the chalet because of trees and nature. Our check in and check out time are 4pm and 11am, I am surprised that you have been asked to leave at 9 am. Also, this schedule is just like in hotel and everywhere in vacation rentals, the first and last day is shorter because of cleaning. Yes, during high season, because of covid and impossibility to let 24 hours before cleaning, we asked the customers to clean the beddings to keep our staff safe. But it's only on high season time. I am sorry that you have been infortunated by this demand. Regards, Nadine | |
