Deer and wild geese are frequently seen, and with a bit of luck, guests may also spot coyotes or even bears moving quietly through their natural habitat — a powerful reminder of how untouched the surroundings truly are.
The surrounding woods feature natural trails, ideal for walking, wandering, and enjoying the forest at your own pace. In winter, the area is equally magical and well suited for snowshoeing, offering a serene way to explore the snowy landscape directly from the cabin.
Despite its secluded feel, the cabin is conveniently located. It is within walking distance of Lake Massawipi, a 10-minute drive from Ayer's Cliff and the charming village of North Hatley, and approximately 20 minutes from Magog. This makes it an ideal escape that feels remote, yet remains close to cafés, restaurants, shops, and seasonal activities — perfect in both summer and winter.
The cabin features a cozy interior with a queen-size bed, a mezzanine with a single bed, a wood stove, a table and chairs, as well as a small kitchenette for simple meal preparation. There is no electricity, allowing you to enjoy candlelit evenings, the sounds of the forest, and star-filled skies.
Fresh water comes directly from a natural spring on the property, accessible via concrete steps. The spring is large and clear enough to allow guests to take a refreshing swim, adding to the uniqueness of the experience.
Outside, unwind in a wood-fired outdoor bathtub / hot tub, heated with a traditional wood oven — firewood is provided. You will also find a separate outdoor shower, heated with wood as well. Surrounded by trees and silence, these outdoor amenities offer unforgettable moments of relaxation. The toilet is separate and located outside, in keeping with the rustic and eco-conscious spirit of the place.
This is not a conventional stay — it's a peaceful, back-to-basics retreat where nature takes center stage.
