Some chalets you simply rent. Others are where you actually reconnect. Hopelaï belongs to the second kind.
Built in 2004 in true Norwegian log-cabin tradition, this grand wood chalet sits on 4 wooded acres in Mansonville, Potton Township, in the heart of Quebec's Eastern Townships. Three levels, five bedrooms, a hot tub steaming in the cold, a fireplace crackling year-round, and forest views from nearly every window, no matter which room you're in.
Twelve minutes to Lake Memphremagog and its beach. Thirteen minutes to the slopes of Owl's Head.
Close enough to miss nothing, remote enough to forget everything else.
THE LOCATION: THE BEST OF THE EASTERN TOWNSHIPS
Mansonville-Potton isn't just a dot on the Eastern Townships map, it's one of the most sought-after corners of the Memphremagog region, busy year-round. Golf, a public beach, biking and hiking trails, kayaking and canoeing on the lake, fishing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, waterskiing and pedal-boating fill the warm season. Winter takes over with downhill and cross-country skiing at Owl's Head, ice skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tubing, ATV trails and even ice fishing. SEPAQ park, Bolton Spa and horseback riding round out the offering, all within minutes. Few rental chalets in Quebec put this much four-season activity within such easy reach.
INSIDE: BUILT FOR GATHERING
Spread across three levels, the chalet comfortably sleeps 10, up to 16 on request. Five bedrooms and three full bathrooms give everyone room to breathe without stepping on each other's toes. The garden level is the true social hub of the house: a large games area with foosball and air hockey, a play and reading corner for kids, and a sound system for livelier evenings. A TV and Blu-ray player round out the quieter nights in.
Outside, the veranda and the wide grounds invite you to slow down: a hammock, a swing, a play area, badminton. And of course, the large outdoor hot tub and the fireplace, available year-round with firewood included — the perfect way to end a day on the slopes or a paddle on the lake.
BEDROOMS AND BEDDING
The five bedrooms share the following bedding: four single beds, three double beds, two queen beds, two king beds and two sofa beds, for a maximum capacity of 16. That mix comfortably houses two or three families with children, or a larger group of friends, each with their own space. For any group over 10 guests, please contact us in advance to confirm arrangements.
Please note: the chalet spans three levels with several staircases and is not wheelchair accessible.

Our goal is simple: you arrive with almost nothing, and you never once have to think about logistics. Here's what's included with your stay at Hopelaï:

- Towels and hair dryers in the bathrooms
- Fully equipped kitchen: fridge with water, complete dishware and utensils, oven, stove, cooktop, microwave, toaster, freezer, dishwasher (pods included), high chair, Delonghi espresso/cappuccino machine with Lavazza beans included, basic condiments, fondue set, raclette grill and blender
- Large outdoor hot tub and firewood
- BBQ, propane included
- EV charging station
- Fully equipped laundry room (washer, dryer, iron included, hot-tub towels provided)
- Unlimited high-speed internet
- Central air conditioning throughout the chalet
- Security system with a parking-area camera
- Central vacuum
- Crib included in one of the bedrooms
- Games, books and entertainment for the whole family
On request, for an additional fee, we can also provide two kayaks, one canoe and life jackets to make the most of Lake Memphremagog.
A FAMILY CHALET, NOT A PARTY VENUE
Hopelaï has been built, season after season, as a place to unwind — for families reconnecting, friends craving the outdoors, quiet celebrations among loved ones. It is not a venue for loud parties, and we ask every guest to respect that spirit, out of consideration for the neighbours and for the home itself.
The hot tub must be left in the condition it was found; maintenance supplies are provided on site for that purpose. Maximum occupancy must be respected, and any pet brought without prior notice results in forfeiture of the security deposit without warning, as outlined in our booking terms.
STAY TERMS
Check-in from 5 PM, check-out before noon. A $500 security deposit is required at booking, paid by Interac transfer, and refunded within 4 days of departure once the property has been inspected. A $350 cleaning fee applies to every stay. The balance is due no later than 30 days before arrival. Our cancellation policy is moderate: 100% refund if cancelled 60 days or more before the stay, 50% if cancelled 30 days or more before.
Pets and smoking are not permitted inside the chalet. A special rate applies on request during spring break and holiday periods.
